April 12, 2008 Hiawatha, IA. - Kickoff for the Jayhawks football game sponsored by V.i.P.S. on April 12 has been set for 1:30 p.m. it was announced on Friday. There will be no admission charge to the game, which will be played indoors at the Sports Zone . After the game, selected players will be available to sign autographs. The game will be a warm up for the Jayhawks rain delayed season. Next week prior to their game, the Jayhawks will hold open practices for fans on Tuesday, April 15th and Thursday, April 17th. The Jayhawks will face the Buckeyes on April 19th. |
April 15, 2008 Marion, IA. - The Jayhawks football team returned to the field Tuesday night for a spring practice. Approximately 10,000 Jayhawk fans witnessed the Red and Blue squads practice and scrimmage. The defense dominated on both sides of the ball. allowing only two offensive touchdowns. "I thought we got some great things accomplished today," head coach Bill Stroschein said after the practice. "There are some young guys who have put themselves in a position to win a starting job, which is what you want to see." |

April 19, 2008 Marion, IA. - The Jayhawks played their first official game today in front of an energetic and supportive crowd. The Jayhawks went on to defeat the Buckeyes as the crowd expressed their appreciation with cheers, dances and crowd dives. Both the Red and Blue squad's offense impressively controlled the clock followed by multiple TEAM scores. The defense continued to show why they have earned the leagues Black and Blue Bruisers nickname.

April 26, 2008 Hiawatha, IA. - The Jayhawks continue to draw the attention of local and national fan alike. After a leisurely first half, the Jayhawks electrified the crowd with back-to-back-to-back scores to start the second half. The Red squad had their game faces on and stopped the bruins in their tracks while the Blue squad introduced new formations and plays in a display of offensive dominance. The entire Jayhawk team expressed appreciation for snacks after the game while signing autographs for a near record crowd. The Jayhawks will face the cross town Boilermakers next week on the NC field.
